Our Guides

Meet Andrew, Lane, Jason, Brian and Dustin (right to left.) At Road Dog Tours we believe that our guides ultimately make your tour experience special. We also were always told to never get in a van with strangers so call this a brief introduction to our great guides at Road Dog Tours.

Andrew DeKay

Favorite Beer on Tour: Fremont Brewing - Dark Star Imperial Oatmeal Stout
Favorite Beer Not on Tour: Rogue Brewing - Hazelnut Brown Nectar, 7 Seas Brewing - Ballz Deep Double IPA
Favorite Song on Tour: E.L.O. - Mr Blue Sky

Beer Bio: Andrew loves beer, just about all beer.  He has worked for the Washington Beer Commission so he considers himself an expert on all beer brewed in-state. He enjoys hiking (with beer), cooking (with beer!), visiting new breweries, and spreading the gospel of beer.

Jason Shrum

Favorite Beer on Tour: Cold Ones
Favorite Beer Not on Tour: Warm Ones
Favorite Song on Tour: Don't Stop Believing - Journey

Beer Bio: Jason comes to us via Florida.  Home of southern rock and blue haired old people. His love of beer began as a child, when his parents couldn't afford the rising milk prices that occurred in the late 70's. As a former lacrosse player at the Univ. of Florida his love of beer as well as his belly, began to expand. Jason also travels the country as a stand up comedian, so yeah, his tours are pretty funny or at least he thinks so.

Brian James

Favorite Beer on Tour:  Hilliard's Amber Ale, Georgetown Choppers Red, Bad Jimmy's Habanero Amber
Favorite Beer Not on Tour:  Silver Gulch Fairbanks Lager, New Belgian Ranger IPA, Rainier
Favorite Song on Tour:  Panama - Van Halen

Beer Bio: Born and raised across the Puget Sound in Bremerton, Brian first came to Seattle to attend University of Washington and fell in love with the city.  After graduation, a thirst for adventure (and beer) brought him to Alaska where he got a job guiding ATV tours in Denali National Park.  A few years of occasional international travel and a winter guiding job in the Colorado Rockies followed.  Brian is now back in the city he calls home to share his love for beer with anyone who will listen.

Cliff Haack

Favorite Beer on Tour: Stoup Robust Porter
Favorite Beer Not on Tour: Ommegang Three Philosophers
Favorite Song on my Tour: Anything I can sing too

Beer Bio: Born and raised in Seattle, Cliff loves everything about the Emerald city. Starbucks coffee, Seahawks, Sounders, snowboarding, and of course local beers. You will often find Cliff around beer... either giving brewery tours, serving beers at the bar, home brewing, or enjoying the darkest stout he can find.

Tash Haycock-Chavez

Favorite Beer on Tour: anything dark
Favorite Beer Not on Tour: Thai beer - especially when consumed in Thailand!
Favorite Song on Tour: Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler

Beer Bio: Tash loves beer, and she loves to travel. She especially loves drinking beer while she travels. Her favorite moments include drinking beer in a glacier ice cave in Alaska, and drinking beer in an ancient thermal bath house in Budapest!

Tom Furey

Favorite Beer Not on Tour: Kettlehouse Fresh Bongwater
Favorite Song on Tour: Bell Biv DeVoe - Poison

He speaks Chinese, brews his own beer and loves to travel, snap photos, and meet people from around the world. He is currently going to school for beer science in addition to being one of our awesome guides!

Dustin Boast - Owner/Operator

Favorite Beer on Tour: Hilliard's Murdered Out Stout
Favorite Beer Not on Tour: Old Rasputin on Nitro - North Coast
Favorite Song on Tour: Young Forever - Jay Z

Beer Bio: Dustin, loves sports and beer.  And since he grew up in the state of Washington watching the Mariners, Seahawks, Sonics and Huskies typically lose lots of ballgames, you almost have to have great local fresh beer to enjoy the games.  You will tend to find Dustin at the breweries, Brouwer's Cafe, Paseo (home to best pork sandwiches ever) or out golfing/boating/kayaking in the Puget Sound.
